Izzy Berdan was born in South Texas in 1978 to a family who believed in service and sacrifice. Familial roots in religion, community, and the land continue to play a role in their views of the world. Their Boston life began in 1996 and has been a journey through interior design, night clubs, sobriety, fashion, rugby, magazines, performing, hospitality, assault survivor, love and art. For over a decade Izzy has been working on a number of photography series that pose questions about race, society & the human condition. Today they continue to work as a creative, photographer, freelance consultant, and provocateur.

-most of my life i have struggled understanding how i process the world around me, and often turned to exploring art for answers.  age has gifted me a plethora of questions to further my understanding. how have we arrived where we are as a people? where do i come from and who am i in the world?  how does one go about dismantling the framework of thinking created by colonization while participating in the process? i am grateful to be able to spend my life answering these questions-
